Original and authentic Torbecchia dining room set composed of six dining chairs with structure in walnut wood and seats in foam and upholstery and a dining table in walnut wood.
Poltronova was founded in Italy in the 1960s under the art director Ettore Sottsass. The Torbecchia series was designed by Giovanni Michelucci and produced by Poltronova in the 1960s. The maker's mark is visible on each piece.
It was purchased new in France in 1965 and then imported into Australia for personal use. The chairs' seats are not the original rush seats: those wore out, and no artisan able to repair or replace them could be found in Australia. They have been replaced with easily removable, comfortable, high quality foam cushion seats, covered in fabric. These, in turn, can be simply replaced or reupholstered to taste. The whole set is in good condition, with a few small dents and marks on the table top, consistent with the age of the furniture. No discoloration present.

Excellent condition: New or as new, never used or, hardly used with very minor signs of wear
Very Good condition: used, shows signs of acceptable wear and tear
Moderate condition: used, shows obvious signs of wear and tear, needs some TLC though structurally sound
Poor condition: needs to be repaired to be able to be used
