George Nelson for Vitra Coconut Chair. Designed 1955, USA. George Nelson is credited as one of the founders of American modernism. The ‘Coconut’ lounge chair is one of Nelson’s iconic designs, taking its name from the coconut wedge shape of the seat. An elegant base of steel legs and connective lines, contributes to the unique character of the chair. White fibreglass base upholstered in black leather. The leather is in very good condition with some signs of wear. Still manufactured today. Recommended retail price $14,870
