Vladimir Kagan Serpentine sofa. Most likely manufactured by Directional in the 1990s. Vladimir Kagan designed the Serpentine sofa in the 1960s in New York, and stated he designed ‘vessels for the human body’ that are both comfortable and beautiful; an original proponent of form follows function. His furniture features sinuous curves and bold lines that have enduring appeal today. This sofa was reupholstered some years ago in pastel blue velvet and is in excellent condition.
